NEWS State's revenue tally falls short again
Arizona Republic State's revenue tally falls short again The Legislature's budget staff on Friday reported "disappointing" levels of state tax collections in August, reinforcing fiscal gloominess that started with a smaller-than-expected surplus from the last fiscal year. The Joint Legislative Budget Committee staff said August collections were $64.5 million, or 8.6 percent, below the expectations, and down 2.7. percent from August 2006. Lower-than-expected individual income tax collections accounted for two-thirds of the gap between actual and projected August revenues.
