Tax Relief won’t harm firefighting efforts-

There is a lot of rhetoric floating around about the effect the Arizona Tax Revolt would have on the quality of fire protection in Bullhead City and comparisons to Proposition 13 in California a few years back.

Prior to Proposition 13, the Los Angeles County Fire Dept was considered to be one of the finest in the world. After passage of Proposition 13, it still is without any reduction in its ability to provide protection to the citizens Of Los Angeles County. I know this because I am a retired firefighter of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and I know how dedicated firefighters everywhere are.

So, with a little belt tightening, and doing without a few frills, I’m positive our men and women of the BHC Fire Department will do the job they are trained to do.

So stop all this fear talk about reduction of fire protection services in our town because of the Arizona Tax Revolt. It ain’t so. The citizens of Bullhead City need to sign this petition to protect us from being taxed out of their homes. If restraints should be out upon any department, it should be put upon the taxing authority in this county.
