Rising taxes result in county shortfall-

Just thinking. ... Mohave Chief Public Defender Dana Hlavac says his office can't handle any more criminal cases because of a hiring freeze imposed by the county due to loss of county tax revenue.

How can any homeowner believe that Mohave County has a loss of tax revenue when the average property tax bill went up some 40 percent over last year. Mine went up 39 percent and all my neighbors are saying the same thing.

It boggles the mind to think that the Mohave County administrators think they can sell this lie to the public. Do they think we are ignorant sheep that will just follow the shepherd with no questions asked? If I was ambivalent on the tax revolt before, now I'm militantly for it.

How long can the county and state legislators think they can get away with lying to us? Yes, I include the state because our governor is once again predicting doom and gloom about the state budget.

The last time she did this they found a $400 million surplus. Remember that one? And immediately the Legislature tried to create new spending programs to eat it up.

Just thinking.
